In The Dalish Curse, the Player Characters (PCs) visit a village called Vintiver, on the borderlands of Ferelden and the Brecilian Forest. There they find the people of a nearby farm butchered by unknown attackers, and they find a wounded and exhausted Dalish elf named Eshara (Eh-SHA-ra). When they take Eshara to the village, however, they get a hostile reception. The reason for this soon becomes clear. It seems a band of Dalish visited Vintiver recently and got involved in a conflict with some villagers. The matter was settled peaceably, and the Dalish moved on, but Vintiver has since fallen prey to a series of mysterious attacks, first on livestock and now on people. They blame the elves, saying the “knife-ears” (as they call them) have placed a curse upon the village. Eshara, the Dalish elf the PCs (hopefully) rescue, tells a different tale. She says her band fell victim to something in the Brecilian Forest. Something terrible and evil it was, from which she barely escaped. She says it is this mysterious evil that is now attacking Vintiver, but the humans are not inclined to believe her. If they are willing to help the people of Vintiver, the PCs must travel into the darkness of the haunted Brecilian Forest, search for the missing Dalish elves, and discover the source of the attacks on both peoples: a Dalish hunter transformed into an abomination by a rage demon. He now calls himself Mythallen (myth-al-LEN)—“child of vengeance” in elvish— and seeks revenge on the folk of the village, and the “weaklings” amongst his own people. The PCs must confront the abomination, and their choices leading up to the climactic moment may have grave repercussions for the people of Vintiver

It is a little know fact that among goblins the female of the kind is referred to a She. Unlike their male counterparts She goblins are literate and do not fear magic. Most She, stay deep within their shelter. Safe and protected by the males who hunt and gather for the She. The She may have as many as 12 different mates and while monogamy is an unknown concept to the She, there are many males why chose just one? The more males a She has at her call, the more food and gifts she receives. Some She, will adventure out of their homes with the males, but this is uncommon. After several litters, She gain the title of Momma. The Momma or Mommas form a matriarchal dictatorship, they determine what the males shall do, be it hunting, waring, and gathering or whatever may need to be done. A She who have not had litters are known as Sister. Sisters are more apt to venture abroad, usually in small packs of other Sisters; this is where they practice magic away from the paranoid eyes of the males. Sisters tend to be athletic thin and muscular unlike Mommas who tend to be more robust and larger than males. Few females are chosen to survive after birth. More females in the group mean less attentive males to go around and provide. Only special females are chosen to survive after birth, usually ones who devour males first, out run their Momma, or stand out in the pecking order of the litter. In the world of the She only the strong or cunning survive, but this still is regulated by the Momma. She, naturally have magic tendencies. They tend to become Witches, Alchemists, Clerics, Bards and Druids of a sort. This by no means says a random She, may not have physical tendency’s, some of the great rogues and assassins have been She. The She and their goblins kin pass history and knowledge down in the form of song and dance. This is the easiest way to teach the less discipline and childlike males. Songs and limericks tend to stick better in the memories of the males, never mind that males enjoy singing and chanting repetitive limericks. Only the strongest or most resourceful She survive the loss of her colony. Displaced She will band together to survive. Survival means reproduction of the colony and for this only one male is required. Low be the single male goblin amongst a group of She. The male will try to provide for all the She’s needs, from food, shelter, pampering, and physical attention. Single males will work themselves to death providing for the Mommas and Sisters, but even in death providing one last meal to his She. The She of the Rotting Octopus is one such troop who had lost the colony. The She goblins watched their brothers fall under the swords of men. A hand full of She fled the keep and travelled through the desert to a river. There they stumbled across a Halfling merchant ship and her crew in the process of unloading and burying some of their ill-gotten gains. The She attacked immediately.

Goblins pass history and knowledge down in the form of song and dance. Songs and limericks tend to stick better in the memories of the males, never mind that males enjoy singing and chanting repetitive limericks. The Goblins of the Rotting Octopus is one such troop who had lost the colony. The whole group had left to take part in the siege of the desert city under the lead of Sabastian the Halfling Skald. Sabastian had handpicked the smartest and fittest of the goblin broods. Through several generations he had culled out most of the unfit goblins only allowing the best to grow and train in his army. Years of grooming and training went into the ambitious halfling’s plan to take the city of krociss. The army drilled from early in the morning till late at night. Sabastian had organized a full army of goblins into a cohesive unit. It was at night the army had moved up to the walls of the city. Each hidden under a cloth blind made to look like a large stone. When dawn came, the city was surrounded by the army each goblin hidden under a pho rock waiting for the signal to attack. Unfortunately, a random group of adventures who had spent the night in the city were heading out of the gates when one noticed the symmetry of the stones encircling the city. Not just the size and shape but the placement of them. The one lone little goblin who just happened to be the closest to the group did not move or utter a sound as an adventurer smashed his war hammer down on the paper blind that concealed him. With a stroke the blind was crushed and the goblin killed. The other goblins witnessed the death of their comrade, not a sound was made nor did any move. After the blow was dealt the adventures turned and walked back into the city. The crushed blind still looked very much like a stone with a huge dent in it. Nothing protruded from the blind, no noise was made less the meaty thwack of the hammer, nor was any blood showing. Shortly after the party went back into the city volleys of arrows and other missiles came over the walls. The goblins stood their ground, no order had been given, no actions were taken. After the last arrow fell the gates of the city burst open, a host of men on horses came charging out. Drums began to beat as did the battle. In unison, all the blinds were over turned and the hidden goblins charged the attackers, unfortunately the many volleys of arrows had taken a significant toll on the troops. The goblins stood but half their original number. The attack was on, but army fell before it even had the chance to stand. As the once great army scattered to the winds they were perused and cut down. A hand full of Goblins fled the battle and travelled through the desert to a river. There they stumbled across a Halfling merchant ship and her crew in the process of unloading and burying some of their ill-gotten gains. The Goblins attacked immediately.
